August's Private Reserve - Thai Jungle Green Tea
This is a truly exciting and unique green tea. From the Nan province of Thailand, this unconventional green is made up of big, loosely-rolled leaves. It is reminiscent of a Japanese hojicha, and images of a bamboo forest are elicited when notes of roasted seeds, water chestnut, spinach and lemon linger on your palate. This altogether non-bitter tea also alludes to a well-roasted oolong, though without giving up the ghost - you won't find any fruitiness here, but for lemon. This tea transcends all styles with beguiling charm.
